I cant say anything as I don't know about advanced photography, but cityscapes at night are one of my FAVORITE things, hence the auto-fav.
:iconniel4:
Thanks! I've just started to take some night time cityscapes of downtown portland and just can't seem to get enough of it! Check back soon for more!

I really like the composition and the details are nice and crisp. Good job with the colors too. One suggestion is to fix the horizon. It's not quite straight and is bothering me :D

Hey thanks man! Yeah, i think the not so straight horizon is one of those wide angle draw backs... if you look at all the buildings, they are perpendicular to the top and bottom of the photo, if the horizon was adjusted to be parallel then the buildings would all be leaning a bit. Since the plane of the sensor wasn't parallel to the coast line it does apear a bit off. But i'll try to fix it tonight and send it to you to see what you think! Did you get to the ponds on sunday? How'd that turn out?
:iconfutureplug:
Oh yeah, that could explain it. Do send me an updated one to look at. I think the slight lean of the buildings would be far less noticeable than the horizon since they take up a far lower percentage of the shot.

And I didn't get out on Sunday; a couple invited us over for dessert. Might try during the week depending on the weather. Oh, and at what site did you get the prints made?

I got the prints done at nationsphotolab.com. you have to download their software and it takes a little getting used to the interface but i really like how the prints come out. and they are way reasonable. you should come over and check out some of the prints i've gotten from there... maybe this weekend if you wanna come over and guitar/band hero with me on sunday night or something.

how do you do the link thingy too in these little replies?
:iconfutureplug:
Holy crap, those are way good prices! I might just have to make some prints... On their site it says they offer 5 free 8x10 proofs (just pay shipping). I think I'll try that first. Did you frame your prints or have them do it?

toldya! i framed them myself. I just wait till i have 50.00 bucks worth of printing saved up and get the free shipping. That is a good deal though, i haven't seen that deal... i'll have to check it out too!
